Before you hire a Coach…
Q: What do y’all charge for your one-on-one coaching?
A: $50,000
I’m kidding. Actually, I do not discuss fees until we meet in the Desire Discovery Session and you have a better understanding of the work, the value it would bring to your life, and what that would make possible for you. If you think about it, if I said $30 an hour or $3,000 an hour, there would be no context for the number until you understood the value it would bring to your life. So I do not discuss fees before that would be appropriate.
Q: What would the process look like to hire a coach?
A: We would have an initial conversation on the phone to make sure there is good fit for us to work together. If, after that call that seems to be the case, then we schedule a longer, complimentary Desire Discovery Session. In that session we go into greater detail about what you want to achieve or resolve. Then I talk about my approach and how it can assist you in your outcomes. At that point, we review an agreement and choose to work together — or choose not to — to see if we are a good fit for one another. I measure a “good fit” to be whether your outcomes are well served by my approach.
Then we discuss fees–which are actually quite reasonable, or so our clients tell us.
Q: Are your coaches licensed therapists? Is it like therapy?
A: No. I am not a licensed state mental health professionals and I do not provide psychotherapy, counseling, or any other mental health services that would require a license, nor do I hold myself out to provide such services. I provide educational services that often result in substantial learning and life transformation.
Q: I am already working with a therapist, is it okay to work with a coach at the same time?
A: YES! Working with both a therapist and a coach simultaneously can be an amazing and life-changing experience. One simple way to describe having them both is: In therapy, the client looks at every part of themselves that shaped them into the person they are at this moment in time. In coaching, the client looks at who they are in this moment and who they want to show up as in the future, and then what it will take to become that “future self”. Having both a therapist and a coach can be very complementary, as knowing how you came to be where you are will often help you become the person you want to be!
Q: How is coaching different than a weekend workshop, retreat or other immersive experience?
Immersions do amazing things and you can have significant breakthroughs during those experiences. However, after the immersion, often those insights fade and those breakthroughs lack purchase. Coaching helps you to integrate those breakthroughs into your life so the peak experiences you had can become permanent ways of being in your life. It is about change with more sustain.
Q: I have heard about OM (orgasmic meditation). Do I need to practice OM in order to hire you as my coach?
A: No you don’t. Many of my past clients have benefitted from one on one coaching and have no desire to learn more about or learn the practice of OM. Many of the principles and guiding viewpoints that I share with my clients are derived from the practice and teachings of OM, AND, you do not need to know how to OM to benefit from hiring me as your coach.
Q: I have heard about OM (orgasmic meditation). Will the you engage in that practice with me?
No. While I may encourage you to have a practice and a practice partner or partners, that would be inappropriate for the coaching relationship. I follow a strict Code Of Conduct as part of the rigorous standards I must meet to be remain a member of the OneTaste Coaches Association.
Q: Do you offer programs that are less than 6 and 12 months?
No, we do not. If you think about it, 26 hours (26 sessions ~ 1 session a week for 6 months) or 52 hours (52 sessions ~ 1 session a week for 12 months) is very little time – regardless of how it is spread out, to take you to a whole new level in your life.
It also allows us to relax into the process, build one phase on the previous, and so on. My coaching packages build in stages of sensation and content over time – very intentionally designed stages that, were we to try and shortcut the process, would undermine the purpose and potency of the coaching you paid for.
I have tried shorter durations, and found that – without exception – the clients were unable to integrate – and therefore have the change with sustain – we talked about above. Therefore, it ultimately does not serve the client. And we come from a place of what would best serve you.
AND all of those questions are thoroughly addressed in the Desire Discovery Session.
The In’s and Out’s of the Coaching Experience…
Q: Do we meet in person or on the phone?
A: While it is ultimately up to us to decide together, most one on one coaching is done either in person or on video chat. I serve you best when I have as much information as possible about your current state of being. In person, and on video chat, information like facial expressions, eye movement, and hand gestures are available to help me serve you. Coaching over the phone can be done on an as-needed basis at my discretion.
Q: What happens if I have to miss a session?
A: Because your coaching agreement is based on time and not the number of sessions, there is no “penalty” for being late or missing a session. I encourage you to reschedule the session, to receive the most benefit from the coaching. Of course, your overall coaching experience will be negatively impacted if you are repeatedly late or miss multiple sessions without rescheduling.
Q: How long is a coaching session?
A: Coaching sessions last, on average, about an hour. However, this is not a strict rule, and we can decide together if you would benefit from having shorter or longer sessions.
Q: How often do we have them?
A: On average, we will meet for one, one-hour session per week. We may establish an electronic means of communication for between sessions, which is most often text, and less often email and or phone check-ins. Ultimately, we will design your coaching experience and relationship together, to ensure that you are best served by the time we have together.
